Gina and her husband are filing a medical malpractice lawsuit against Eye Disease Consultants, LLC, and its eye surgeons for their failure to administer appropriate antibiotic prophylaxis before, during, and after an Ahmed Valve with Scleral Patch Graft and Vitrectomy surgery.   Due to the defendant’s negligence, Gina was left without adequate protection against bacterial infection.

In the days following the surgery, Gina suffered from a bacterial infection in her eye and eye socket,  identified as MSSA (Methicillin-Sensitive Staphylococcus Aureus).

The infection spread through Gina’s eye socket, causing severe damage to her eye, which subsequently shrank and lost all light perception. Gina is now suffering from permanent blindness in her eye, a direct result of the negligence of Eye Disease Consultants, LLC.

This lawsuit has been scheduled for a Jury Trial in November, 2025.
